K9 Gunner Signs Off In Monroe
MONROE, Conn. -- K9 Gunner worked his last shift Wednesday night, signing off at 11 p.m., according to the Monroe Police Department on Facebook.After five and a half years with the department, he is retiring.
Gunner and police officer, his handler, Jeffrey Loomis, have partnered since June 15, 2011, said the post.
He is credited with working a number of "noteworthy cases," including after his recovery last year from a life-threatening illness.

Jeffrey William "Jeff" Van Gundy, a basketball coach and TV analyst, currently a commentator for ESPN, and previously the head coach of the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets, was born Jan. 19, 1962 in Helmet, Calif.
Van Gundy is the son of a basketball coach, Bill Van Gundy, the former head coach at Brockport State University and Genesee Community College.
