Jackknifed Tractor Trailer Snarls Traffic On Route 78 Multiple lanes were closed following a fuel spill and a jackknifed tractor trailer on Route 78 in Hunterdon County Friday, Jan. 19. It happened in the eastbound lanes, east of Exit 12 in Union Township by Perryville Rd., the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. Two left lanes of three lanes are closed, NJ DOT said. Man Fatally Struck By Train At Fanwood Station: NJ Transit A man was fatally struck by a train near Fanwood Station on Thursday, Jan. 18, NJ Transit said. At 7:21 p.m., the Raritan Valley Line train 51510, which had departed Raritan at 6:49 p.m., fatally injured the male pedestrian, NJ Transit said.  There were no injuries to anyone on board, NJ Transit said. Raritan Valley Line service was suspended in both directions, NJ Transit said. New Jersey Transit police are investigating.

Aldi Opening In Wayne Aldi Opening In Wayne
Aldi Opening In Wayne Grocery shoppers in Wayne will have another place to peruse the aisles. Aldi, a German supermarket chain, will be opening at the Plaza Square Shopping Center at 625 Hamburg Turnpike in the township, according to Regency Centers, which owns the shopping center.  The store will be 42,816 square feet, according to Regency Centers. An opening date has not been announced. Tenants at Plaza Square include a Wendy's and a T-Mobile. Aldi's has 61 locations in the Garden State, according to its website.
