NEW CASTLE, N.Y. -- Happy Birthday to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.New York's Governor, who has a home address in New Castle, was born Dec. 6, 1957 and is 59 on Tueaday.
Andrew Mark Cuomo became the 56th Governor of New York on Jan. 1, 2011.
A member of the Democratic Party, Cuomo has held the same position his father, Mario Cuomo, held for three terms.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he is a graduate of Fordham University and Albany Law School.

Stony Point Man, 65, Suffers Broken Leg During Assault, 34-Year-Old Charged
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Stony Point man has been charged in connection with the assault of a 65-year-old man who police say suffered a broken leg.
The alleged suspect, Krishna M. Maganti, 34, was charged on Nov. 28 with second- and third-degree assault, according to the Stony Point Police Department.
An police investigation allegedly revealed Maganti did strike the victim, who was his roommate, causing lacerations, according to police.
The victim also allegedly suffered a broken left leg in the assault, said police.

Beekman Library Stuffing Stockings For Soldiers, Needs Help, Donations
POUGHQUAG, N.Y. -- Holiday stockings for veterans will be filled Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Beekman Library.
Participants are welcome to join this event, a partnership between the library and Soldiers' Angels, to fill 25 stockings that will be donated to service members and veterans this season.
All ages and families are welcome to help with the initiative at 6 p.m. at the library.
In advance of Thursday's activity, the following donations mus be brought to the library by Tuesday, Dec. 6:
