Aspiring Teen Authors Get A Master Class In Writing At Boces YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- It isn't often an aspiring young writer gets to collaborate with a professional author. Students from high school across Westchester had the rare chance to work alongside published authors in a master class offered recently at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. Olivia Grubb, a student at Rippowam Cisqua, was working on one of her short stories and got a chance to work with an author. Nursing Home Chain With Pawling Location To Pay Back Wages To Workers PAWLING, N.Y. -- A Queens-based nursing home chain will have to pay $2,006,796 in back wages and damages to 844 underpaid employees at five locations in New York, including in Pawling, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. An investigation by the department's Wage and Hour Division found that The Grand Healthcare System and its partial owner, Jeremy Strauss, failed to pay employees required overtime and for all hours worked at its facilities in Chittenango, Guilderland, Pawling, Queens and Rome between 2013 and 2016. Sidewalk Showcased Near Scarsdale Golf Club, More Greenburgh Walks In Works GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A sidewalk from East Hartsdale Avenue to the Scarsdale Golf Club/Clubway is now complete in Greenburgh, according to Supervisor Paul Feiner. Standard And Poor’s Issues AAA Rating For Pelham Public Schools PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelham Union Free School District has a reaffirmed AAA credit rating and stable outlook, according to a Nov. 22 report of Standard and Poor’s Global.
