Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Man Clinging To Kayak Without Life Jacket Rescued In Long Island Sound A 27-year-old man holding on to his kayak without a life jacket was rescued in the Long Island Sound  It happened on Wednesday, July 8 at around 11 p.m. off the coast of Oyster Bay, approximately half mile from Center Island, Nassau County Police said. Nassau County Marine Bureau 5 discovered the man yelling for help. He was then recovered from the water by Marine Bureau and brought back to shore.  He was treated by Nassau County medical personnel and in stable condition.

Long Island Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash Near Busy Intersection A 33-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near a busy Long Island intersection overnight. It happened on Thursday, July 9 at about 1:15 a.m. in Smithtown. James Turek, of Mount Sinai, was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima eastbound on Route 347, just east of Terry Road, when the vehicle collided with the rear of an eastbound box truck, Suffolk County Police said. Turek was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the box truck, an adult man, was transported to the same hospital for evaluation.
