Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

One Killed In Fiery Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash A person was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in Middle Island. A 2007 Infiniti sedan was traveling southbound on Rocky Point Road, south of Whiskey Road, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, caught fire and became fully engulfed, Suffolk County Police said. The Middle Island Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, has not yet been identified by police and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash Police are investigating a single-vehicle Long Island crash that seriously injured two people. A 33-year-old man was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox in Yaphank westbound on Sunrise Highway when the vehicle left the roadway and struck trees at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, Suffolk County Police said. The driver and his 32-year-old male passenger were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. Covid-19: Hudson Valley Sees Uptick In Cases, Positive Testing Rate; Latest County Totals The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Tuesday, Oct. 20. In "Red Zone" focus areas included as part of New York State's Cluster Action Initiative, the positivity rate for test results reported Monday, Oct. 19 was 2.91 percent - down from 3.31 percent the day before. Covid-19: NY Discourages Non-Essential Travel To, From NJ, CT; Adds Two States To Advisory With both New Jersey and Connecticut now meeting the criteria to be added to what had been a tristate travel advisory, New York is now discouraging non-essential travel to and from those neighboring states, as well as Pennsylvania. Man Killed In Police-Involved Long Island Shooting Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a man on Long Island. The incident happened on Monday, Oct. 19 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in Coram. Officers responded to a 911 report of a violent domestic dispute at Fairfield Townhouses at Coram, located at 5306 Towne Woods Road, Suffolk County Police said. Covid-19: New Positive Case Confirmed At School In Westchester A positive COVID-19 case has been confirmed at a school in the Hudson Valley. The Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District reported early Monday evening, Oct. 19 that an individual with COVID-19 was at John F. Kennedy Elementary School while infectious. The exposed individuals must quarantine for 14 days from the last exposure date and should be tested for COVID-19 five days after the last exposure. Long Island Man Dies After Falling From Personal Watercraft Police are investigating the death of a Long Island man who was found in the water. Joseph Kelly, 51, of Babylon, launched his personal watercraft from Amityville on Sunday, Oct. 18 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.
