Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Man Used Snapchat To Have Sexual Contact With Two 13-Year-Olds, Police Say A Long Island man was arrested for having sexual contact with two 13-year-olds after meeting them on a messaging app, according to police. Brendan Sullivan, 20, of Bohemia, had sexual contact with the two girls on separate occasions in March and August, Suffolk County Police said. Sullivan used Snapchat to meet his victims, according to police. Sullivan had been arrested in May on charges related to child pornography. Long Island Teen Apprehended After Threatening Officers With Knife, Police Say A Long Island teen was apprehended after threatening officers with a knife, police say. Nassau County Police First Precinct Officers responded to a call for a disturbance in Uniondale at 604 Jerusalem Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 21 just before 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers were told that the defendant, Selvin Hernandez-Lopez, 18, of Uniondale, had fled on foot southbound on Amsterdam Avenue. Woman Walking On Long Island Trail Attacked From Behind By Man An investigation is underway after a woman was attacked by a man while walking on a Long Island trail. The incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at approximately 11:30 a.m. in Port Jefferson Station. The 54-year-old woman was walking on Greenway Trail, approximately one-quarter mile from the eastern entrance when the man tackled her from behind, Suffolk County Police said. Covid-19: School In Fairfield County Goes Remote After Positive Case A school in Fairfield County has switched to remote learning after a positive case of COVID-19. The positive case at Darien High School was confirmed on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The school activated full remote learning for Thursday, Oct. 22. All after-school high school activities and athletics are canceled for Thursday. A determination as far as the status for Friday, Oct. 23 is expected later in the day Thursday.

Epsilon Strengthens To Hurricane Status, Generating Large Waves That Will Affect East Coast The latest hurricane in what has been one of the most active seasons in decades is now packing 110 mile-per-hour winds as it churns in the Atlantic Ocean. The crash happened on the westbound side in North Massapequa at the Bethpage State Parkway exit, and was reported around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. The collision occurred between two vehicles.
