Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Man Apprehended After Killing His Mother, Police Say A Long Island man has been apprehended after he killed his mother, police said. It happened on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at approximately 4 p.m. in Bay Shore. Officers responded to 433 East Main St. after a man called 911 and stated he had killed his mother, Suffolk County Police said. Officers responded and found Barbara Lawson, 70, dead in the apartment. A medical examiner from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner responded and pronounced Lawson dead. Covid-19: Popular Area Shop Closes Due To Exposure A popular area store has temporarily closed due to exposure to COVID-19. Village Jerk, located on Main Street in Beacon, sells beef, pork, elk, yak, bison, venison, duck, turkey, chicken, ostrich, trout, salmon and vegan jerky, as well as varieties of hot sauce. "It seems with all the plexiglass, sanitizer, masks, distancing and isolating, we have been exposed to Covid," the shop wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday, Nov. 22. Covid-19: 43 Die In CT From Virus Over Weekend; Here's New Positivity Rate, Rundown Of Cases A total of 43 people died from COVID-19 in Connecticut over the weekend. There have now been 4,871 deaths statewide during the pandemic. A total of 109,045 tests were administered and 5,271 came back positive (4.83 percent positivity), according to the latest data released Monday, Nov. 23. Husband Who Attempted Suicide Charged For Wife's Murder At Long Island Home, Police Say A husband who attempted suicide has been charged for the murder of his wife following an incident that happened earlier this month at a Long Island home. Suffolk County Police First Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside a Deer Park residence on Eastwood Avenue at approximately 8:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. IDs Released For SUV Driver Killed, Man Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way Long Island Crash The identities have been released of a man killed and another seriously injured in a wrong-way crash that happened on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway. The positive testing rate in all focus areas under the state's Micro-Cluster strategy is 4.39 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 2.29 percent. Blaze Breaks Out On 38-Foot Cabin Cruiser In Stamford A large boat fire broke out in the Dolphin Cove neighborhood of Stamford. Firefighters arrived on the scene less than four minutes after the blaze began at around 12:09 on Saturday, Nov. 21, and found the 38-foot cabin cruiser located at a dock behind 109 Dolphin Cove Quay was well-involved in flames. Three engine companies, one ladder truck, one rescue company, the fireboat, and the shift commander responded, bringing a total of 22 fire personnel to the scene, the Stamford Fire Departments said.
