Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

52-Year-Old Killed In Crash That Caused Long Island Expressway Closure In Melville Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that caused the closure of a stretch of the Long Island Expressway. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Melville. James Dawson, age 52, of the Bronx, was driving a Ford E350 van westbound, just west of Exit 49, when his vehicle struck the center median, Suffolk County Police said. Dawson was transported to Plainview Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police. Detectives believe Dawson suffered a medical event prior to the crash. Ex-Attorney From Briarcliff Manor Sentenced For Stealing More Than $3.7M From Clients A former attorney in New York has been sentenced for stealing millions from clients. Northern Westchester resident Laurieanne DeLitta, age 51, of Briarcliff Manor, was sentenced to a term of one to three years in state prison for stealing more than $3.7 million from eight clients she represented as a real estate lawyer between 2017 and 2021, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 7. Second Hurricane Of '22 Season Forms Off Atlantic Coast: Here's Projected Path, Timing For Earl Tropical Storm Earl strengthened to a Category 1 storm overnight to become the second hurricane of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season. As of early Wednesday morning, Sept. 7, the center of Hurricane Earl, which is expected to become a major hurricane by the end of the workweek, was about 550 miles south of Bermuda. Sewer Issue Causes Closure Of High School In Hudson Valley A sewer issue has caused the closure of a high school in the Hudson Valley on Wednesday, Sept. 7. In Rockland County, the issue with the main sewer discharge line at Nanuet High School surfaced on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 6, the Nanuet Union Free School District announced. Bergen County Man Victim Of Double Fatal Wrong-Way NY Crash: Police A Bergen County man was identified by authorities as one of the two people killed in a wrong-way, head-on crash overnight in New York. George Gonzalez, 68, of Dumont, was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-87 in a 2017 Toyota RAV4, when he drove into a 2022 Nissan Altima around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Tuxedo, New York State Police said. Gonzalez's car became engulfed in flames. The Altima driver was identified as Yehuda Weinstock, 67, of Chester, NY. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither vehicle had any passengers. Severe Storms Moving West To East With Downpours, Strong Winds, Isolated Tornadoes Possible Severe storms with heavy downpours and strong gusty winds are moving through the region from west to east late Monday afternoon, Sept. 5. Westchester Man Accused Of Exposing Himself To Worker At Red Roof Inn A Westchester County man has been accused of exposing himself to an employee at a hotel on Long Island.
