Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman Standing In Front Of Long Island Farm Stand Struck, Killed By Box Truck A woman was killed after being struck by a box truck while standing in front of a Long Island farm stand. The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 in Eastport. Queens resident Judith DiLorenzo, 78, of Whitestone, was standing in front of a farm stand on County Road 111, approximately one-quarter mile north of Sunrise Highway, when the 2011 Freightliner box truck struck her, Suffolk County Police said. Man Faces DWI, Other Charges After Fatal Long Island Crash A 29-year-old man who was allegedly driving while intoxicated is facing a host of charges after a fatal crash on Long Island. The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, according to Nassau County Police said. A 31-year-old male victim was operating his Suzuki motorcycle, traveling southbound on Clinton Street, approaching Burr Avenue, police said. Man Killed When Tree Falls On Compact SUV In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man was killed when a tree fell on a vehicle during the height of the severe round of storms last week. At approximately 4:22 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, state police troopers in Dutchess County responded to the area of mile marker 43.4 on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill for a report of a tree falling on a vehicle. Covid-19: Demand 'Insane' For Suburban Realtors Amid NYC Exodus As real-estate sales in Manhattan plummet amid the COVID-19 outbreak, demand for homes in the suburbs is spiking. Real estate sales in Manhattan fell by 56 percent in July. New Tornado Touchdown Confirmed In Region, Bringing Total To Three A new tornado touchdown from severe storm activity in the region on Thursday, Aug. 27 has been confirmed. The National Weather Service announced on Sunday, Aug. 30 that an Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF) 0 twister touched down in Kent, Connecticut, near the Dutchess County border in Litchfield County, at 3:31 p.m. Thursday. An EF-0 twister, with winds of 65 to 85 miles per hour, is the weakest of six types of twisters. (See the scale at the bottom of this page.) Massive Three-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Restaurant, Spreads To Apartment Building In Westchester A massive three-alarm fire has broken out at a building on Route 1 (North Main Street) in Port Chester. The blaze began around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at La Dolce Vita Bar and Restaurant before spreading to an apartment building next door. One firefighter was reportedly injured at the scene. Covid-19: SUNY Oneonta To Temporarily Close After Outbreak; SUNY Plattsburgh Suspends 43 With more than 100 COVID-19 cases reported on campus, SUNY Oneonta will close for two weeks. Long Island Homeowner Walks In On Man Stealing Cash, Credit Cards, Police Say A 59-year-old man has been accused of entering a Long Island home and stealing cash and credit cards, police said. The incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 29 at around 6:40 p.m. in Plandome Heights. Michael Demedina, 59, of Manhasset, illegally entered the Winthrope Road residence where he removed a wallet containing the cash and credit cards, Nassau County Police said. Wilton Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Massachusetts Crash A Connecticut man was killed in a two-vehicle Massachusetts crash. The crash happened in Bristol County at around 3:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 in Raynham, Massachusetts State Police said in a statement. Fairfield County resident Mariusz Laszcak, 53, of Wilton, was driving a 2006 Honda motorcycle when he collided with a 2016 International truck, state police said. Laszcak died at the scene, according to police. The 32-year-old truck driver, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was not injured.
