Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Bicyclist Killed In Hit-Run Crash With Dark-Colored SUV On Residential Long Island Street An investigation is underway after a bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on a residential Long Island street. It happened on Friday, Oct. 16 at about 7:25 p.m. in East Patchogue. Officers responded to Americus Avenue just south of Atlantic Avenue after a 911 caller reported a body in the roadway, Suffolk County Police said. Man Struck, Killed By Car At Long Island Intersection A man was killed after being struck by a car at a Long Island intersection overnight. It happened on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11:10 p.m. in Hempstead. While attempting to cross Fulton Avenue between the intersections of California Avenue and Tennessee Avenue, a 72-year-old man was struck by a westbound 2018 Mazda, Nassau County Police said. The Mazda was being operated by a woman, also age 72, who remained at the scene for police arrival. Police Probe Two Long Island Burglaries In Which Suspects Posed As Utility Workers Police are warning Long Island residents of two recent burglaries during which individuals posed as utility employees to gain entry into homes. A man representing himself as a Suffolk County Water Authority employee asked to enter a home on Smith Road in Lake Ronkonkoma on Monday, Oct. 12 to check the water meter in the basement for upcoming work, Suffolk County Police said. Covid-19: Hudson Valley Sees Uptick In Cases, Positive Testing Rate; Latest County Totals The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Friday, Oct. 16. In "Red Zone" focus areas included as part of the state's Cluster Action Initiative, the positivity rate for test results reported on Thursday, Oct. 15 is 4.84 percent - unchanged from the day before - with 200 positive cases out of 4,133 tests. Covid-19: New School In Westchester Goes Remote After Positive Cases A new school in Westchester has switched to remote learning due to COVID-19 exposure. The Mamaroneck Union Free School District announced that due to a number of newly-confirmed positive cases, the Mamaroneck Avenue Elementary School is closed for in-person learning from Friday, Oct. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 28. NOAA Releases 2020-21 Winter Outlook: Here's What It Says About Northeast, Effects Of La Niña The Northeast could be spared from a harsh winter for the third year in a row, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
