West Islip Man Found In Possession Of Child Pornography, Police Say A 73-year-old Long Island man was arrested and accused of possessing child pornography. Nicholas Pedagno, of West Islip, was arrested at about 5 p.m. on Monday, March 28, following an investigation, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Man Struck By School Bus In Merrick, Hospitalized In Critical Condition A 70-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a school bus on Long Island. The crash happened in Merrick at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28. The school bus with no children on board was traveling south on Merrick Avenue when it was involved in a crash at Benson Lane with a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, the Nassau County Police Department reported. The incident happened in Hartford County at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at an apartment building on Elm Commons Drive in Rocky Hill. Man Sentenced For Starting Fire At Hudson Valley Residence Where He Lived With Girlfriend A man has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to setting fire to an apartment where he and his girlfriend lived. Larry Hickmon, age 30, of Middletown, was sentenced on Thursday, March 24, to 18 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
