Police have issued a warrant for the man they said forced his way into the High School of Science and Technology in Springfield, pistol-whipped a student, and fired a gun through a window, authorities said.

A Hampden County man was arrested and charged with killing a 23-year-old earlier this week in Springfield, authorities said.
Tyreese Amaro, 25, of East Longmeadow, is charged with murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and several firearm felonies, Springfield police said.
