Equal parts Lois Lane, J. Jonah Jameson and Vicki Vale, Zak! has traveled from coast-to-coast covering small and big town community news in both in print and online for nearly a decade since his graduation from the award-winning Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2010.

Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Suspected Drug Dealer Busted Following Searches At St. Mary's County Homes, Sheriff Says A man who failed to stop for a St. Mary's County Sheriff's deputy attempting to pull him over was busted with a host of cash and controlled substances during several searches, officials say. On Tuesday, Sept. 3, Bushwood resident Deandre Terille Taylor failed to slow down at a white stop line, instead making a sharp right turn in his Ford Mustang and speeding away before getting out and taking off on foot. Community Rallying Support To Send Body Of Man Killed At Baltimore Music Club Back To Jamaica Tyreke Brown was visiting Maryland from Jamaica when he was shot and killed at a Baltimore music club. Now his family is rallying the community in an effort to send his body back home. Teen Charged As Adult For Joppatowne HS Shooting That Killed 'Charismatic, Funny' Teen: Sheriff Classes are set to resume at Joppatown High School following Friday's fatal shooting that claimed the life of 15-year-old Warren Curtis Grant.
