An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Ossining Residents Come Out For Solar Eclipse WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- They came. They saw. They eclipsed. (After putting on their glasses first, of course.) More than 300 people came to the Ossining Public Library Monday afternoon to view the solar eclipse at a viewing party. Guests put on their special glasses or got out their cereal boxes before looking up at the sky and oohing and ahhing. "It's amazing," Program Director James Trapasso said. Hospitals Report No Solar Eclipse Injuries It looked like everyone knew not to look at the sun. Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, and Nyack Hospital said as of Monday afternoon they reported receiving no injuries related to the solar eclipse. People were warned to only look at the eclipse wearing special glasses or to make their own glasses out of a cereal box. The eclipse was the first to sweep across the entire country since 1918. After Aug. 21, the next total solar eclipse is due for April 2024.

Peekskill Woman Gets Proposal Of A Lifetime PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Amanda Luria, a Peekskill resident, had no idea what was going to happen when she went to see her boyfriend, Forty Nguyen perform at Cirque Eloize iD at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Poughkeepsie Boots Former Board Member's Office POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Poughkeepsie School Board voted Wednesday 3-2 to remove an Upward Bound office that was used by Randy Coates, a former board member. Coates who was defeated in May's school board elections uses the office in his role as program coordinator for the Upward Bound program at Marist College.
