An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Ossining Kicks Off New School Year OSSINING, N.Y. -- The 2017-2018 school year has begun in Ossining. Tuesday was back to school day for most of the more than 5,000 students in the Ossining School District, from pre-kindergarteners starting their education to the freshman class entering Ossining High School. Ossining School District Renovates Gym, Unveils Art Space OSSINING, N.Y. -- It was a summer of construction and improvement at the Ossining School District. At the high school, a new art space was finished. The art space consists of four classrooms on the lower level, replacing locker rooms and wrestling space. At Anne M. Dorner Middle School, the old principal's office and guidance space were converted into a classroom and a new faculty and copy room were built. North Castle School Charges Deception By Developer NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- St. Christopher's is taking a developer to court to prevent a development being built next to its Jennie Clarkson campus in North Castle. Mail It In: Palisades Mail Post Office Will Be Open On Labor Day WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- Need to mail a package on Labor Day? Don't worry, you have options. Or an option, singular.The Palisades Postal Store at the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack will be the only post office in the Lower Hudson Valley that will be open on Labor Day. Full postal retail services are available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with U.S. Passport application acceptance hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Normal mail delivery, collections, and Post Office business hours will resume Tuesday, September 5.

Rev Up Your Engines, Westchester Car Lovers: Pound Ridge Show Coming Soon Gentlemen -- and women -- start your engines. Car lovers from throughout the area have their calendars marked for the Pound Ridge Car Show. This year's event will be on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pound Ridge Town Park at 199 Westchester Ave. The 15th annual event will feature more than 300 cars and benefits the Pound Ridge PBA Community Programs. The fee to pre-register a car is a $15 donation, with the day of the show costing $20. There is a $25 vendor fee and you can sponsor a trophy for $50. Raffle tickets will be sold at three for $10.
