An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Thousands Expected To Flock To Sales Days In Mount Kisco MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Mount Kisco is hoping people from all over Westchester come to its annual sale day, which traditionally draws thousands. The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual event on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17. Larchmont Therapist Uses Dog To Help Reach Clients LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Dogs are described as man's best friend. They're also good at therapy too. Colette Lopane of Larchmont-based New Day Vitality has been using her dog Aurora as a therapy dog in her sessions with clients. Mahopac-Carmel Chamber Wants New Master Plan Adopted CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce would like to turn Carmel into a destination spot. The chamber presented its "Vision Carmel 2020" idea at a recent town board meeting with the goal of having a Comprehensive Master Plan in place by 2020. United Way Poughkeepsie Sends Almost 9,000 Pounds Of Donations To Texas POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- United Way of the Dutchess-Orange region is doing what it can to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.On Tuesday, UPS sent a team of volunteers to United Way's Poughkeepsie office to pick up 8,815 pounds of items donated to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The donations will be delivered by UPS Freight directly to the Texas organizations. Historical Society Honoring 'Beacons' Of History BEACON, N.Y. -- The Beacon Historical Society is honoring a longtime mayor and a business that has helped preserve the history of the city. Clarkstown Town Council Fires Suspended Chief Sullivan CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan was fired by the Clarkstown Town Council at a meeting Tuesday night. The board voted 3-2 to fire Sullivan, who was found guilty last month on 11 of 15 charges, including misconduct, insubordination, and incompetence. with a recommendation by hearing officer Robert Ponzini that he lose his job.
