A chopped cheese is nothing new for Haze Perez Segura.
The 43-year-old Teaneck resident grew up eating them every time he went into Washington Heights to visit friends and family.
"It's like a burger, but chopped like a Philly cheese steak with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and ketchup," said Segura, who was raised in Englewood. "It's served on a toasted hero."
The chopped cheese is a staple in bodegas and delis across New York City.

Seven Vehicles Damaged, One Overturned On Route 17 In Hasbrouck Heights
A seven-vehicle wreck brought firefighters to Route 17 in Bergen County on Tuesday night, Aug. 20, firefighters said.
Miraculously, occupants had self-extricated from the vehicles when firefighters arrived on scene near the Holiday Inn in Hasbrouck Heights around 9:45 p.m., they said.
