Basement Burglar Busted Inside Long Island Home, Police A man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught burglarizing a Long Island home. The incident happened Friday, March 15, at a residence in the hamlet of Remsenburg. Southampton Town Police said the homeowner called 911 at around 2:15 p.m. saying he came home to find a man at the bottom of his basement steps. When he asked the intruder what he was doing there, the man said he would call his boss. The suspect then left the home and drove away. Alert Issued For Capital Region 14-Year-Old Missing Nearly Week Police in the region are asking for help locating a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for nearly a week. Montgomery County resident Diamond Hoover was last seen on Thursday, March 14, and was reported as a runaway, according to Amsterdam Police. Hoover is 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Amsterdam Police Department or 518-842-1100 or email infopd@amsterdampd.com. Albany County resident John Redick, age 68, of Colonie, was arrested Monday, March 18, on suspicion of disseminating indecent material to a minor, a felony. Schenectady resident Juan Garcia-Pleitez, age 41, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Schenectady County Court on Wednesday, March 13. It followed his guilty plea to one count of criminal sexual act, a felony, in January.
