Harrington Park Firefighters Practice Extrication Drills HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. -- The Harrington Park Volunteer Fire Company held drills during the week of April 17 to test out new extraction equipment.  The department protects Harrington Park’s 2.2 square miles, for over 4,800 residents, two senior assisted living centers, one school district, 41 small businesses and one industry. It also providse mutual aid to 12 neighboring fire departments for an additional 118,600 residents residing in 40.3 square miles.

Photos: Animal Adoption Event At Acme Supermarket In Edgewater EDGEWATER, N.J. --  Bergen County Protect & Rescue held an adoption event outside ACME supermarket in Edgewater on April 16.  The event was a success for local animals in Bergen County area as there were many interested and adoptions along with donations to help with spay/neuter for animals in our care.   In 2015, Bergen County Protect & Rescue took into its care 635 animals, had 142 reclaims, sent 23 animals to breed specific rescue groups and adopted out 397.

North Castle reported .16 violent crimes per 1,000 residents and only 5.15 property crimes per 1,000 people.
