Brand-New College Grad Opens The Whisk, Smithtown Bakery Where You'll Need To Take A Number
There was a line out the door Father's Day weekend when specialty cakes, pastries, donuts, cookies, and cannolis sold out at The Whisk Bakery owned by 21-year-old Smithtown native Amanda Vigliarolo.
She opened the bakery in her hometown June 8. Both weekends Vigliarolo, a brand, new graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island where she triple-majored in culinary, pastry and business- was forced to close early, said her mother Silvia Vigliarolo who helps out at the bakery.

Sgt. Clifton Weed, 50-Year Stamford PD Member, Ancestor Of City Settler Jonas Weed, Dies
A retired sergeant who served 50 years with the Stamford Police and whose ancestor settled Stamford, has died.
Clifton Eugene (Skip) Weed, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Monday, June 17 at age 80.
Weed was the husband of Mary Ann Weed. He was the eldest son of Lester A. and Mary Ann Weed.
He was a 12th generation descendant of Jonas Weed, an original settler of Stamford.
A graduate of St. Basil Preparatory High School in 1956, he then attended Niagara University for two years. He later married Mary Ann on June 1, 1963.

Two Charged With Prostitution In Huntington Massage Parlor Raid
Two women were charged with prostitution after a raid of a Huntington massage parlor, according to Suffolk County Police.
The raid on Thursday, June 20 at 5:35 p.m. was at the Four Seasons Spa, located at 367 West Jericho Turnpike, police said.
In response to community complaints, Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers, assisted by the Town of Huntington Public Safety, Criminal Intelligence detectives, and Second Squad detectives conducted an investigation into alleged illegal activity at the spa, according to police.
