Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Suffolk County Police responded to the intersection of Irving Avenue and Jackson Street in Wyandanch after a 911 caller reported that a man was shot as he was being robbed at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. First Precinct officers arrived and discovered a 22-year-old Central Islip man with two gunshot wounds to his right leg. Long Island Teen Crossing Street Struck, Killed By BMW, Police Say An 18-year-old crossing a Long Island street was struck and killed by a BMW driven by a fellow teenager, police said. Man Working As Child Care Provider In Area Charged With Sexually Abusing Minor A 25-year-old employed as a child-care provider in the area has been accused of sexually abusing a minor. New York State Police in Rhinebeck, in conjunction with the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center, arrested Ulster County resident Esfand Zahedi, of Port Ewen, on Friday, July 31. Two Women Shot, One Fatally, On Long Island Two women were shot, one fatally, during an incident overnight on Long Island. It happened just after midnight on Saturday, Aug. 1 in Hempstead. Nassau County Police officers received multiple calls for shots fired through ‘ShotSpotter’ notification and responded to Martin Luther King Drive.  Upon arrival, officers found two women, ages 28 and 29, who had both been shot by an unknown individual.
