Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

One Killed In Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash One person was killed after a vehicle crashed into a tree overnight on Long Island. It happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7 in Uniondale. A 2005 Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Smith Street, when the operator, a 40-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, Nassau County Police said.  The operator, and sole occupant, sustained serious trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a police medic, according to police. Dog Rescued From Partially Frozen Long Island Pond A dog was rescued after it fell into a partially frozen Long Island pond. The incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 7 at around 9 a.m. in Hewlett, at Grant Park, located at 1625 Broadway.  Responding Nassau County Police officers located the dog’s owner and were able to locate the golden retriever, Lucky, who was struggling to stay afloat.  Hewlett Fire Department responded to the scene.  Rescue swimmers from the fire department were deployed and they were able to safely reach and rescue Lucky.  The dog was transported to an area animal hospital for evaluat…
