Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman Shot In Broad Daylight At Busy Long Island Intersection Police detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in broad daylight at a busy Long Island intersection. A woman, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was shot once in Farmingville at the intersection of Granny Road and Horseblock Road at approximately 2:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, Suffolk County Police said. The woman, age 24, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police Investigation String Of Burglaries At Long Island Businesses Police detectives are investigating a string of overnight burglaries that occurred at Long Island businesses. The burglaries happened from Thursday, Sept. 23 to Thursday, Oct. 7 in Suffolk County. During the "smash-and-grab" burglaries, a man breaks a window or glass door, enters the business, and steals cash, said police. Woman Sexually Abused While Jogging On Long Island Roadway, Police Say An investigation is underway after police say a woman was sexually abused while jogging on a Long Island roadway. The woman was jogging in Smithtown at the intersection of Route 111 and Estate Road at approximately 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, when she was grabbed and sexually abused by a man, Suffolk County Police said. Area 21-Year-Old Accused Of Raping Minor 'On Multiple Occasions,' State Police Say A tip led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man who is accused of raping a minor in the area. New York State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks said troopers arrested Dutchess County resident Zachuriah McBride, age 21, of Red Hook, after receiving the law enforcement tip of possible sexual assault. The investigation determined McBride raped a victim under the age of 13 on multiple occasions. The victim was familiar to him. Trooper Injured, Four State Police Vehicles Damaged During Arrest Of Wrong-Way LI Driver One trooper was injured and several state police cruisers sustained damage as an allegedly impaired wrong-way driver was apprehended on Long Island. Officer Found Guilty In Bludgeoning Death Of Girlfriend In Hudson Valley An officer in New York City who lives in the Hudson Valley was found guilty of the violent death of his girlfriend following a jury trial. Luis Rondon, age 50, of New Windsor, was convicted in Orange County Court of second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday, Oct. 7. Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck By Jeep On Long Island Roadway A woman was critically injured after being struck by a Jeep on a Long Island roadway. The incident happened around 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in Oceanside. That's when the pedestrian was struck by a silver Jeep, operated by a 35-year-old woman, on Atlantic Avenue, Nassau County Police said. The driver remained at the scene.
