Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Teen Drowns In Backyard Pool Of Long Island Home An investigation is underway after the drowning death of a teen that occurred at a Long Island home. Officers responded to the home in Dix Hills on Lansdowne Lane at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday, June 6 after Abdul Brezault, age 18, was found unresponsive in the backyard pool, Suffolk County Police said. Brezault, who police say lives in Canada and was at the home for a family gathering, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Long Island Man Seriously Injured After Being Electrocuted, Falling From Ladder Police are investigating the circumstances in which a Long Island man fell off a ladder after being electrocuted while working on a house. Lawrence Sirulnick, age 56, was on a ladder in Smithtown outside of 37 Juniper Ave. when he touched an electrical wire and fell approximately 15 feet to the ground just before 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, Suffolk County Police said. Sirulnick, of Smithtown, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

One Killed In Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday, June 5 in Elwood. Lavell Jones, age 43, of East Northport, was riding a 2021 Kawasaki westbound on Jericho Turnpike, east of Elwood Road when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a pole, Suffolk County Police said. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Christopher Peter Sennas was a 1985 graduate of Nyack High School, where he earned All-County and All-Conference honors in lacrosse. He graduated from Roanoke College in 1989 where he was a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Worker Accused Of Sexually Abusing Girl At Long Island Restaurant An employee at a Long Island Subway restaurant has been accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Dipak Patel, age 39, approached the girl and forcibly grabbed her inappropriately while working at the Subway in Merrick, at 1341 Jerusalem Ave., at around 7:25 p.m. Friday, June 4, Nassau County Police said.  Officers then responded to the scene and placed Patel under arrest without further incident, said police.
