Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

7-Year-Old Dies From Injuries In Long Island Crash One of two children who suffered critical injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection has died. The crash happened in Lake Grove at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17. Andreia Gaynor, age 40, of Farmingville, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse westbound on Middle Country Road, just west of Hawkins Lane, when she attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot on the south side of the street, Suffolk County Police said. IDs Released For Husband, Wife Killed In Chain-Reaction Westchester Crash The identities have been released of the victims of a double-fatal, chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles in Westchester. It happened around 8:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 on I-287 eastbound, in the town of Harrison, between Exit 10 (Purchase/Port Chester) and Exit 11 (Port Chester/Rye), state police said. Brand-New Forecast Has Henri Tracking Farther West, Enhancing Potential Risk For Region A brand-new projected track for Tropical Storm Henri has shifted it even farther to the west, enhancing the risk of power outages and flashing flooding for the region. The latest models were released Friday afternoon, Aug. 20 by the National Weather Service NOAA National Hurricane Center. Woman Critically Injured In Chain-Reaction Crash On Busy Long Island Roadway An investigation is underway after a woman was critically injured in a chain-reaction crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 in Bellport. A 2000 Nissan Maxima merged onto westbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) from the onramp at Horseblock Road and collided with a westbound 2017 Ford F-150, Suffolk County Police said. Two Alleged Drug Dealers Nabbed In Connection To Fatal Long Island Overdoses A pair of alleged drug dealers have been charged in connection to a string of fatal Long Island overdoses. ID Released For 20-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Jeep On Suffolk County Highway The identity has been released of a 20-year-old who was fatally struck by a Jeep on a Long Island highway. The man was in the lanes of travel on eastbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) in Sayville, east of exit 49, when he was struck by a 2006 Jeep Liberty at about 2:40 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, the Suffolk County Police said. The victim, now identified as Matthew Wenk, of Islip Terrace was pronounced dead at the scene. The Farmingville man who was driving the Jeep, also age 20, was not injured in the crash, police said. Tropical Storm Henri May Become A Hurricane As It Heads Toward Northeast Coast The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred brought thunderstorms with drenching downpours and led to nearly a dozen tornado warnings in parts of the region.
