16-Year-Old Arrested For Stabbing 18-Year-Old In Jersey City: Prosecutors A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 20 and charged with stabbing an 18-year-old in Jersey City last week, prosecutors said. On Friday, Dec. 15 at 8:55 p.m., Jersey City Police responded to a stabbing at Duncan Avenue and Wilmont Street, where they found Naseer Munroe, with a stab wound to the torso, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Munroe was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead after 10 p.m., Suarez said. Winner! Lyndhurst Powerball Player Gets $50K It was quite the day to be a Powerball player in North Jersey. Two Powerball tickets sold in North Jersey, one in Bergen County and the other in Essex County, matched four of five numbers plus the red powerball, winning $50,000 in the drawing held on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The tickets were sold at Shop Rite in Lyndhurst and Amazonia Multiservice in Newark. The winning numbers were 27, 35, 41, 56, 60 and the red powerball was 16.

Continued Flooding Closes Paterson Schools For Rest Of Week Students at Paterson Public Schools will not be returning to school until next year. The school district announced schools will be closed Thursday, Dec. 21 and Friday, Dec. 22 as the city continues to deal with the devastation of weekend flooding. Schools have been closed since Tuesday, Dec. 19, following an early dismissal on Monday, Dec. 18, as numerous streets in the city were closed due to several inches of accumulated water. School will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2. The district said the school calendar will be updated to ensure students get 180 days of instruction.

Newark Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle Driven By 70-Year-Old: Summit PD A 66-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Summit on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 20, police said. At 6:51 a.m. police responded to River Road, between Morris Avenue and Plain Street, and found the woman struck by a 2018 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 70-year-old Hopatcong man. The woman was pronounced dead after being transferred to Overlook Medical Center. The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. Cops ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Multiple Vehicles On Rt. 440 A 58-year-old Jersey City resident was killed after being fatally struck by multiple vehicles on Tuesday, Dec. 19, authorities said. At 5:20 p.m., Jersey City police responded to Route 440 and Danforth Avenue on a report of a pedestrian struck, where they found the lifeless body of Billiah Mogusu near the intersection, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Support Swells For Dying Pascack Valley Teen Lamont "LJ" Alston, a 17-year-old senior at Pascack Valley High School, has been placed in hospice care after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma. LJ was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 16 in February, with recent scans having shown the cancer metastasized, according to a GoFundMe page for him and his family. The teen went into hospice two weeks ago and has faith he can defeat his cancer. His parents, Cris and Lamont, have created a bucket list for him. Tommy DeVito Hires Marketing Agency After Agent's Booking Snafu Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, a Don Bosco graduate, has hired a marketing agency to take over his personal appearances after an autograph signing at a Morristown pizzeria was canceled when his agent tried to double DeVito's fee. Maxx MGMT will now be handling DeVito's appearances, a rep for the agency confirmed. Teenager Dies After Arriving At Jersey City Hospital With Gunshot Wound: Prosecutors An 18-year-old teenage boy was pronounced dead on Monday, Dec. 18 after he was dropped off at a Jersey City hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities said. At 2:20 p.m., the boy arrived at Jersey City Medical Center in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. He was pronounced dead shortly before 4 p.m., prosecutors said. The case is being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.

Newark Man, 39, Fatally Shot: Authorities A 39-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the early morning of Tuesday, Dec. 19, authorities said.
