Peekskill Mayor Files Complaint Against Housing Nonprofit's Chief
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The flap over grants given to a Peekskill politician has a new wrinkle, according to a report by The Examiner News.
The city’s mayor, Frank Catalina, has filed a formal complaint against Alan Steiner, an official with the non-profit that gave Councilwoman Drew Claxton and her family the grants, claiming that Steiner has tarnished his reputation, The Examiner News reported.

Two Arrested In Theft Of Used Cooking Oil From Monroe Eatery
MONROE, CONN. -- Monroe police have arrested two men, who, they say, were making off with a van full of used cooking oil, according to a report by ctpost.com.
Charged with larceny and criminal trespass were Federico Ferreira-Germose, 31, and Juan Nunez-Silverio, 29, both of Yonkers, N.Y., the ctpost.com reported.
State police said the two were arrested after they were spotted driving away from Vazzy’s, a local restaurant, and stopped on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, the ctpost.com report said.

New Paltz Man Charged In Theft Of $4,000 From Mohonk Mountain House
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- A former employee of the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz is facing felony charges in connection with the theft of $4,000 from the resort’s safe, police told The Poughkeepsie Journal.
Police have accused Liam B. Farrell, 26, of New Paltz, of grand larceny and falsifying business records, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
Farrell, who was a general cashier at the resort, was arraigned, given a court date for late April, and released, The Poughkeepsie Journal story said.

Traffic Stop in Orange County Leads to Drug Charges for Four Men
MONROE, N.Y. -- Four men are facing drug charges after they were pulled over by state police in Monroe last week.
According to police, the men were initially stopped on Route 17 on Friday for unnamed vehicle and traffic offenses.
