The Edison woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a speeding car at a crosswalk on Saturday, Dec. 23. Kamath sustained a skull fracture, spinal fracture, internal bleeding, pelvic fracture, multiple collar bone fractures and other severe internal injuries and was unconscious for five days. Christine Grogan, Wyckoff Resident, Dies After Three-Year ALS Battle Christine Grogan, a 60-year-old Wyckoff resident, died on Sunday, Dec. 31, three years after being diagnosed with ALS. A special education teacher, Grogan worked as director of the Epic School in Paramus and for the Learners' Compass in Tenafly, according to her obituary. Grogan was devoted to helping people diagnosed with autism. Grogan was married to Christopher Grogan, a Glen Ridge police officer. Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors An unidentified Newark man was fatally shot on Wednesday, Jan. 3, authorities said. At 9:58 p.m., Newark police responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Ridgewood Avenue and found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Three Burglars Break Into Dispensary, Take $1,200: North Plainfield PD Three burglars broke into a dispensary in North Plainfield just after midnight on Wednesday, Jan. 3, taking more than $1,200 in cash, authorities said. At 12:58 a.m., the three unknown suspects, wearing all black clothing, broke into Cloud 9 Dispensary at 513 Route 22 West by shattering the side window, police said. The suspects ransacked the cash registers, taking the money, before fleeing on foot, police said. The suspects remain at large, police said as they continue to investigate.
