Newark Man Convicted Of Murder After Shooting 31-Year-Old Victim Eight Times: Prosecutors A 31-year-old Newark man was convicted of first degree murder on Friday, Jan. 26 for a drive-by shooting in 2019, authorities said. On May 13, 2019, Kenneth Thomas, a 31-year-old Newark resident was gunned down by Ryan Mwangi eight times while sitting in his car,  Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Jersey City Man Sexually Assaulted 9-Year-Old Multiple Times: Prosecutors A 28-year-old Jersey City man was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 25 and charged with sexually assaulting a then-9-year-old girl in 2019, authorities said. Nestor Moreno sexually assaulted the girl multiple times, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
