Kids Help Build Backpacks For Children In White Plains Y Day Care WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Children in day-care programs at the White Plains branch of the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester were the recipients of 25 new backpacks loaded with back-to-school supplies. The backpacks were put together by children who took part in last week’s Macaroni Kid's Build A Backpack Drive and Scavenger Hunt held at The Westchester in White Plains. Race For Autism Comes To New Canaan Friday Night NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Fairfield County runners take to the streets of New Canaan for a rare Friday night race on Aug, 22 in the All Out For Autism 5k. The race is sponsored by New Balance New Canaan, and begins at 6 p.m. More information and registration details are online. Westport Financier Pleads Guilty To Making False Statements WESTPORT, Conn. -- Richard A. Ullman of Westport pleaded guilty in federal court in Harrisburg, Pa., on Wednesday, Aug. 20, to making false statements to the Defense Finance Accounting Service. Ullman, 50, faces up to five years in prison, $250,000 in fines or both as a result of the guilty plea. Ullmann was released pending sentencing, which is scheduled for Nov. 28. Death Of Ridgefield Boy Left In Hot Car Ruled Homicide RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- In a case that has drawn attention from throughout the area, the medical examiner’s office has ruled the death of a Ridgefield baby a homicide, according to a report on NBCConnecticut.com. Benjamin Seitz, who was 15 months old, died on July 7 to hyperthermia because of environmental exposure, but further details would not be released, according to the medical examiner. Seitz’s father, Kyle, left the boy in the car when he went to work, officials said.
