Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

US Army Sergeant From Hudson Valley Dies While On Active Duty At Age 36 A US Army sergeant from the Hudson Valley died while on active duty. Dutchess County native Bryan Micheal Faison, a lifelong Beacon resident, died suddenly on Friday, June 17 in Asia while serving in the Country of Brunei, according to his obituary. A cause of death has not been released. He was 36 years old. He was born in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 19, 1986, the son of Sandra (South) Faison and Micheal Faison. One Killed In Overnight Long Island Expressway Crash In Medford One person was killed in an overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 10 in Medford. A man was walking across eastbound Long Island Expressway, between Exits 64 and 65, when he was struck by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 58-year-old Yaphank man and then by a 2022 Honda Pilot driven by a 53-year-old Medford man, Suffolk County Police said. It happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, July 9 in Orange County on Route 52 in the town of Montgomery, between Belair Road and Harts Lane. Suspect Apprehended After Attempted Robbery At Wantagh Bank, Police Say A suspect was apprehended after an attempted robbery at a Long Island bank. The incident happened Wednesday, July 6 in Wantagh. The suspect, Anthony J. Trentacosta, age 30, of Seaford, entered the Bank of America located at 3330 Park Avenue, approached a female teller and produced a demand note for US currency, Nassau County Police said. School District In Hudson Valley Names New Superintendent A school district in the Hudson Valley has just named a longtime educator in the region as its new superintendent. In Ulster County, the Marlboro Board of Education announced that it has appointed Michael Rydell as the district’s new superintendent of schools. Detours On Long Island Expressway Stretch Expected To Last For A Month, DOT Says Detours on a stretch of the Long Island Expressway are expected to last a month during roadwork. The New York State Department of Transportation announced on Friday, July 8 that beginning Monday, July 11, westbound traffic on the expressway will be detoured onto the North Service Road from Exit 64 (State Route 112) to Exit 61 (Patchogue-Holbrook Road/Suffolk County Route 19) in the Town of Brookhaven.
