Rutherford Library Organizes Edible Book Festival RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Friends of the Library of Rutherford once again will host the Edible Book Festival at the Rutherford Public Library Saturday, April 2. Any person, family or group may enter by designing a cake or confection inspired by a book. The entire community is invited to enjoy refreshments, buy raffle basket tickets and then buy and cast votes for their favorite creations. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the festival. East Rutherford Police Chief Larry Minda kicked things off Monday by reading a sweet story, titled "Hannah and Sugar," a tale about young girl overcoming her fear of neighborhood dog.
