Phelps Hospital Workers Sign Agreement, Avoid Strike
Following week-long bargaining sessions, workers at a Westchester hospital have reached an agreement, avoiding a planned one-day strike.
Caregivers at Phelps Hospital, which Northwell Health owns, reached a tentative agreement with hospital leaders on Thursday morning, May 30, according to 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East.
As a result, a one-day strike planned for Friday, May 31 was avoided, union officials said.
The tentative agreement includes:
Wage increases retroactive to April 2023;
No-cost family health insurance;

Jordan Wilson, of Bucks County, was bitten by a mastiff dog and suffered facial injuries that will necessitate several surgeries over the next six months, including a skin graft to her nose, according to a GoFundMe.

UPDATE: Two out-of-state men admitted paying “recruiters” to bribe drug addicts in New Jersey to go to rehab centers that they got business from -- some of which were as far as California.
